Women's IPL Auction 2023 LIVE: For the expedited auction, each team was required to submit a shortlist of 15 candidates.
2023 will only last for two months, but what a month it will be for India's female cricketers. Following the momentous announcement of the inaugural Women's Premier League, the Under-19 World Cup victory was announced. The focus will also be on the historic first-ever WPL Auctions taking place today as our Women in Blue prepare to advance. A total of 409 players, including 246 Indians, will be available for grabs and, in auction words, put under the hammer. A minimum of 15 and a maximum of 18 players can be purchased by each club. 90 positions might therefore be filled. Teams may purchase up to six foreign players, including one from an associate member country.
24 participants in all, 10 of which are Indian, have listed themselves at the top base price of 50 lacks. The total budget for each team would not exceed 12 crores. Legends of Indian cricket, including Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, have weighed in to voice their support and solidarity with the possibility that this might be the pivotal moment that Women's Cricket has long awaited.
